The Hayes Horticultural Society Allotments

Situated behind the houses of Constance Crescent, the Allotments came into being during the second world war when the land was divided into plots as part of the 'Dig for Victory' campaign. After the war control of the Allotments passed to the Hayes Horticultural Society.

Allotment Overview

The Allotments are managed by the Allotments Sub Committee of the Hayes Horticultural Society.

All plot holders must be members of the HHS and the Natiional Allotments Society.

Plots must be used to grow produce or flowers and all rubbish must be removed from the site. Weedkillers and insecticides should be carefully used early of late in the day when pollinators are not active.

Applying for An Allotment

Application for an allotment plot should be made to the Society by email and you will be added to the current waiting list.

When a plot becomes available you will be invited to view it and decide whether you would like to take it on. At this point you will need to pay the rental fees for the year which cover the required memberships and insurance.

Allotment Regulations

An Allotment is a community and fellow plot holders can be a good source of advice and fellowship. By accepting a plot you agree to observe and abide by the rules set out by the Society, which may be updated as appropriate.
